Is George Bush Junior a psychopathic sadist?

In replying to hate email from "Caleb Bernacchio" on 6/18/03, I found myself responding to this very question.

When you use the word 'sadistic' I am reminded of the news report about Bush's reaction to the initial invasion of Iraq. Remember that? He pumped his fist and with his usual privileged frat boy smirk for the cameras he said 'Feels good!'. He was clearly thrilled, and I take him at his word that it did 'feel good' to him. Well if you go to dictionary.com and look up the word 'sadistic', the most appropriate definition in this case from the three offered seems to be the second: "The deriving of pleasure, or the tendency to derive pleasure, from cruelty". You'll have to ask his wife if he was extra horny that night to decide if the first definition also fits him, but it's a fact that Bush did clearly express considerable pleasure at beginning his war, which he obviously had to have known would bring a lot of death and suffering to the Iraqi people. Could there be any clearer evidence that Bush is a sadist? I don't see how, but if you close your eyes to the evidence you can deny almost anything. A moral human being would not exuberantly launch a war with a big smirking grin, getting off on the thought that thousands of people would die very soon as a direct result of their own choice. That would be the act of a sadistic sociopath. That was the act of George Bush Junior. You should be able to connect the dots.

In my opinion, it is again 'insane' today that so many Americans cannot connect the same dots and see Bush for what he is. But the German people swallowed Hitler's right-wing worldview in just about the same way, so it looks like history is repeating itself. For it to be any more obvious, Bush would have to start wearing swastikas and gassing Jews. Are you going to wait until it gets that bad, or can you use your brain effectively enough to see that things don't necessarily have to get quite that bad for it to be clear that Bush is a sociopath with more or less the morals of Adolf Hitler? Or am I just wasting my breath, maybe that's what you want and hope for in America's leader? Lord knows there are plenty of those types around (and I would bet money they almost always vote Republican unless David Duke or another neofascist is on the ballot).

By the way, a psychopath and a sociopath are technically the same thing. Sociopath is an older term and some dictionaries refer to it as more in use but Dr. Robert Hare who wrote Without Conscience says that the modern term is psychopath. Psychopaths as children frequently torture animals.
